Overview

Calilio is a cloud business phone system for teams. Its scope on this page is the software layer that sits on top of a number: how inbound calls are answered, how outbound calls are placed, and how conversations are logged and shared inside the team.

Inbound side, the platform builds call flows out of IVR menus, ring groups, queues, business-hours routing, and voicemail-to-email. Outbound side, a shared power dialer walks agents through a target list, and supervisors can whisper into an active call to coach live. Voice and SMS threads share one inbox so an agent does not lose context between channels, and every call carries notes, tags, and disposition codes into whatever CRM the team already uses.

Two sibling pages carry the pieces this page deliberately leaves out. Buying, porting, or renewing a virtual line - and the country coverage, number-type, and verification rules that come with it - is documented on Calilio Virtual Phone Numbers. Anything downstream of a completed call - transcripts, sentiment, tagged reasons - lives on Calilio AI Call Analytics. This page is the right entry point when the immediate question is routing and dialer capability, not procurement of numbers or after-call reporting. For teams that need encrypted, compliance-focused calling on top of this feature set, see Calilio Secure Business Calling.

Best for

Small and mid-sized businesses, call centers, and distributed teams that need to set up a virtual business phone number, route inbound calls, and dial out at scale without physical phone hardware.

Teams that need to pick a business phone number, publish it to customers, and manage day-to-day calling: reception, sales outreach, support queues, and shared team inboxes across desktop, iOS, Android, and the web app.

Helps with: Buying and porting virtual numbers, routing calls with IVR, call queues, ring strategies, and agent groups, running outbound campaigns with a power dialer, coaching agents live with call whispering, and unifying voice and SMS in one inbox.

Not ideal for

The routing and dialer layer alone does not procure phone numbers (see Calilio Virtual Phone Numbers) and does not generate after-call transcripts, summaries, or sentiment scoring (see Calilio AI Call Analytics). Recording and monitoring features must be used within local consent laws.

Pros

  • Virtual local, mobile, and toll-free numbers in 100+ countries
  • First US or Canada local number free after signup (per vendor terms at time of writing)
  • IVR, call queues, ring strategies, and agent groups
  • Power dialer for outbound outreach
  • Call whispering for live agent coaching
  • Unified inbox for calls and SMS
  • Desktop, iOS, Android, and web apps

Cons

  • Value depends on team adoption of IVR and disposition codes
  • Requires a stable internet connection on every device
  • Recording and monitoring subject to local law
  • Number provisioning documented on a sibling page, not here
