Overview

Motion Daily Planner is the one-person view of Motion: a solo calendar that continually rewrites itself as the day changes.

Two components carry the work. The AI Task Manager reads every open task - due date, expected duration, priority - and lays it into open calendar slots using Motion''s Do-Date vs Due-Date logic; tasks that are trending toward a missed deadline are surfaced days ahead, not on the last morning. The AI Calendar treats the schedule as reactive: if a meeting overruns, if a new priority arrives at 2pm, or if a working block gets fragmented, the remaining tasks are re-slotted automatically so the user never has to drag blocks around.

Extras around that core stay individual-scoped: recurring focus blocks, overbooking warnings when the calendar can no longer fit committed work, and a personal booking link so external people can grab a slot without breaking the auto-schedule.

Boundary: coordination across people - shared capacity, multi-project sequencing, cross-team dependencies - is not on this page. That workflow lives on Motion Project Planner. Readers weighing Motion as a broader stack (planner + notes + scheduler + PM) belong on the Motion platform page. This page fits when the felt problem is deciding what to work on next, hour by hour, solo.

Best for

Individuals, freelancers, students, and knowledge workers who want their day laid out for them and re-planned automatically when meetings run long, a task takes longer than expected, or a new deadline lands.

Someone whose day is a mix of meetings and knowledge work, who wants an AI-built daily schedule with a clear next task at every hour, rather than a full multi-team project management install.

Helps with: AI-built daily schedules from a task list, automatic re-planning when interruptions or delays arrive, capacity warnings when the day is overbooked, a surfaced top priority for the current hour, recurring task blocks, and a shareable booking page for meetings.

Not ideal for

The Daily Planner is single-user by design: it will not coordinate multiple people, cannot enforce focus without cooperation, and depends on the user actually entering realistic tasks and durations. Cross-team planning belongs on Motion Project Planner.

Pros

  • AI Task Manager and AI Calendar working from one daily view
  • Automatic re-planning when the day shifts
  • Surfaced top priority at each hour
  • Do-date vs due-date logic with at-risk warnings
  • Recurring task blocks
  • Shareable meeting booking page
  • Solid fit for one person planning their own day

Cons

  • Only useful when the user keeps tasks, durations, and deadlines current
  • Paid subscription after the trial
  • Manual override still needed when priorities are ambiguous
  • Broader than a plain to-do app for users who only want a checklist

Pricing
