Overview

Wondershare Dr.Fone is a phone-side toolkit that runs from a Windows or macOS desktop and talks to a connected iPhone or Android handset over USB or Wi-Fi.

Under one installer it bundles several mobile-specific jobs: full-device backup and selective restore, phone-to-phone transfer of contacts, messages, photos and app data (including cross-platform iOS <-> Android moves), targeted recovery of deleted items directly from the phone or its backup, and repair routines for common iOS/Android boot problems such as stuck-at-logo, recovery-mode loops, and failed OTA updates.

Scope boundary: Dr.Fone will not touch files that live on the computer itself, an external SSD, a USB stick, or an SD card that was never inside a phone. That is the job of Wondershare Recoverit.

Two things to plan for: specific modules light up based on the exact iOS/Android version and handset model, and the more powerful transfer, recovery, and repair modules are on the paid tier after the trial. For work outside the phone-recovery scope, the wider Wondershare lineup includes Wondershare EdrawMax for diagramming, Wondershare PDFelement for document editing, and Wondershare SelfyzAI for AI photo tools.

Best for

People moving to a new phone, families rescuing deleted iMessages or WhatsApp threads, and IT/support handling iOS/Android boot loops without a full factory reset.

Parents, Families, Individuals, Students, Business Professionals, IT Professionals

Helps with: Phone Backup, Data Recovery, Phone Transfer, Device Management, File Transfer, Mobile Repair, Data Migration

Not ideal for

Dr.Fone will not scan a PC hard drive, external SSD, USB flash drive, or bare SD card. Available modules depend on device model and OS version, and paid tiers gate the deeper repair, transfer, and recovery flows.
